Frequently Asked Questions

Below are some of the most commonly asked questions about RHS. If you have further questions, please contact us.

  • A new student to the District will be provided with a Chromebook, charger, and if needed, a hot spot for students who don't have access to internet service. If the student is transferring from a school within the District you should keep any technology that was issued to you from your previous school.

  • Renaissance doesn't offer sports, dances, and all languages/electives on campus. RHS does offer different after school clubs throughout the week. A student can attend electives/clubs outside of what is offered at RHS at Bremerton High School. Students are also able to participate in sports and attend dances at Bremerton High School.

  • Yes. RHS advisors work with students to have either an AM or PM schedule to accommodate West Sound Technical Skills Center or Running Start while still being able to complete needed courses to graduate high school.

  • Yes, a student can transfer to RHS most of the time throughout the school year (May 12th is the last day for new students). However, students do need to be aware that if/when they transfer, they may lose credit from previous school if classes haven't been completed.

  • A registration packet must be completed and reviewed PRIOR to Orientation at Renaissance High School.

Things that may require a longer wait time prior to being accepted to Renaissance are:

    • If a student in foster care (permission needed from social worker)
    • If a student have an Individual Education Plan? Needs to be reviewed by IEP team prior to acceptance
    • If a student has a health condition requiring a full time nurse on campus, health forms will be reviewed by a Bremerton School District nurse.
    • If a student is currently living outside of the Bremerton School District boundaries, a CHOICE TRANSFER form will need to be completed from the student’s home district.

Once all of the above have been reviewed and completed the student's family will be contacted to be scheduled for orientation and a class schedule

  • The Renaissance school year is divided into eight terms of approximately one month in length. We run in-person classes from Monday-Thursday on AM / PM schedule (some school work is offered online for after-school work completion opportunities).

  • Renaissance High School does not provide School District transportation. Students are welcome to drive their own vehicles and park at the District Office parking lot below the school. Students who are unable to have their own transportation or are unable to find transportation will be issued an ORCA card that they can keep until they are 19 years old. If a 9th grader needs an ORCA card, we will be contacting guardians for approval prior to issuing the card to the student.
